The Alano Club offers study group meetings, weekly special speaker meetings and regular fellowship events.
These including holiday cookouts, trips, and an annual New Year’s Eve event with speakers, music, and dancing.
* The Alano Club is a non-profit, independent organization, separate and distinct from AA, Al-Anon, or any other 12-Step group. This gives the Club flexibility that is very beneficial for recovery in the community. Unlike individual groups, the Alano Club is not constrained by traditions. It may freely promote the organization, raise funds, and rent space to other 12-step and recovery fellowships. While the vast majority of the groups conduct AA meetings, the club does rent space for 2 weekly meeting each for NA and CA. As members of society often battle multiple addictions, the Alano Club offers a single Clubhouse location with the benefit of different meetings. This allows Groups to remain committed to traditions such as “singleness of purpose”. The Clubhouse exists solely to maintain a “safe and supportive environment” and does not interfere or take sides in any Group Conscious decisions. Each group is truly Autonomous. It is fully separate from the Alano Club in all their internal matters and traditions.
As stated above, each meeting held at the Club is conducted as an autonomous group, and each group contributes rent to the Club to help cover refreshments, maintenance, supplies, and other services provided by the Clubhouse.
Rent from group meetings covers only a portion of the Club’s expenses.
Donations from other meetings, individuals, and local organizations offer much needed help.
